Bonded and Sealed Rubber Stable Mats

bonded and sealed rubber matting

Bonded & Sealed Stable Matting

Originally developed by Quattro over 25 years ago our fully bonded and sealed rubber flooring system has been extremely popular. Our company employed fitters are all fully trained and have been fitting this type of flooring for a lot of years. It shows in the pride they take in their work.

A very important part of the Bonded & Sealed Mat System is the subbase we are fitting to. Please click here for information on the subbase requirements.

Once installed using our specially formulated bonding agent with all joints and perimeter sealed, it creates a fully bonded and sealed system that is hygienic, easy to clean and provides comfort and insulation for your horse.

Our bonded & sealed rubber mat system is also perfect for washbays, solariums & passageways for grip and safety.

We only use high density 18mm or 22mm Supermats, 18mm Quattromats, 22mm Diamond Mats or for the ultimate in stable comfort our 25mm Rubber Comfort Mats all with a minimum tensile strength of 4Mpa to give you a fully sealed long lasting rubber surface.

Please Note: Our matting is fully bonded and not spot bonded or bonded with adhesive only under the joints. It may save money not to fully bond the mats but it will more than likely fail in the short term.

The Bonded & Sealed Stable Matting needs a good flat surface for the mats to be bonded on to.

Passageway & Walkway Rubber

Flexscreed Stone Blend

We also offer a seamless rubber system, the high tensile Flexscreed® Stone Blend system is a mixture of rubber and stone and is designed as an open rubber screed for parade rings, horse walks, yards, etc. It provides an anti slip, seamless protective surface for horses, riders and grooms.

The Flexscreed Stone Blends addition of coloured stone provides a more aesthetic appearance with extra wear resistance.

The standard depth of Flexscreed® is approx 18mm but this can be varied to suit the environment required. It can provide a competitively priced option to the heavier pre manufactured rubber tiles.

Stone Blend can also be used for walkways where grip and safety for human traffic is required

The Flexscreed Stone Blend gives a more colourful finish but can also be applied in black only. This was recently installed in the winners enclosure at Ludlow Racecourse. Flexscreed Stone Blend is also ideal for Internal & External walkways.

Standard systems are black with coloured stone but Stone Blend is also available in Red or Green.

We no longer apply the Sealed Flexscreed for stables and washbays.

Quattro’s Equine Sportsroll & Interlocking Sports Tiles

Quattro’s Equine Sportsroll is an excellent choice for the floors of Stable Barn Passageways, Veterinary Areas and can also be fitted to Stable Walls.

Sportsroll is supplied and installed in thicknesses of 6mm & 10mm with 6mm for human use and 10mm for equine use. Sportsroll is very durable and gives an aesthetically pleasing finish that is easy to keep clean due to the flat surface but has also plenty of grip for horses.

Sportsroll can also be sealed with a clear resin sealer to make it even easier to clean where required.

The 10mm Interlocking Sports Tiles are a single tile version of the Sportsroll which are easy to fit in Stable Barn Walkways and Tack Rooms. These can be fitted loose or bonded down using our Superflex Membrane.

Tensile Strength of a Rubber Mat

You will notice on our website that “Mpa” is mentioned a lot next to our rubber matting. This is the Tensile Strength of the rubber. The Tensile Strength is the force required to cause the rupture of a rubber material and is expressed in Megapascals (Mpa). Solid rubber with a higher Mpa reading indicates a better quality of material. Most stable mats in the UK are 2.5 to 3Mpa whereas Quattro’s are up to 6Mpa with one mat at 8Mpa.
